When the whole Universe is an idealized conscious being then every act is from a space of empathetic communications.
Thus यज्ञ Yagnya is emphatically not a sacrifice as popularly mis-translated. Where is the question of sacrifice when the one making the offering is in complete resonance with the facet of the one receiving the offering?
The sound ज्ञ Gnya in Sanskrit is the root of Gyaan ज्ञान which means knowledge. Note, the sound "kn" in the English is a direct cognate of the Sanskrit "gnya" ज्ञ.
Observe how when saying the sound ज्ञ Gnya correctly, it resonates on the top of the mouth, and thence activating the आज्ञ Āgnya chakra itself, in the middle of the head! This is truly embodied knowing.
So यज्ञ Yagnya really means an offering for the purpose of the supreme knowledge of the Self.
The most visible usage of Yagnya यज्ञ is in the context of fire ceremonies where various items are offered to Agni the deva of fire. In normal households elaborate fire offerings like these do not happen everyday, but when we eat our meals the whole ceremony of eating can be considered a यज्ञ Yagnya because our digestive fire is consuming what we offer. In intense Hatha Yogic practice we consider our practice to be a यज्ञ Yagnya, burning away our karmas and transmuting our baser elements into divine brilliance.
In our psychic model of Yogic Science that the entire Conscious Universe is going through a Yagnya यज्ञ at every moment.
